The longer the cucumber grows, the worse it gets. There are often three situations. If it is not solved, it will be difficult to increase the yield in gardening
In the process of Cucumber Planting, field management is very critical. Many farmers report that physiological diseases often occur in cucumbers. The longer they grow, the worse they get. I don't know how to solve them? There are physiological diseases in cucumber, some of which will be shown through leaves. Three situations are summarized. Farmers often encounter them. How to solve them?
1、 Melon topping
No new leaves grow at the growth point of cucumber, and flowers and small melon buttons grow out, which is the performance of melon topping, which is a physiological disease. Topping cucumber and melon will seriously affect the yield, which is also a problem often encountered by many farmers in the process of Cucumber Planting.
What are the reasons?
- Cucumber seedlings or plant roots are damaged, such as retting roots, burning roots, injured roots, etc., and insufficient nutrient absorption will cause melon topping.
- When cucumber encounters long-term low temperature or high temperature, the plant growth is inhibited, the plant is short, and melon topping will also occur.
When cucumber topping occurs, first remove the melon button to reduce nutrient consumption. Secondly, find out the reasons for melon topping. If the temperature is low, keep it warm properly. When the root system of cucumber is damaged, you should pay attention to rooting and root cultivation. You can use rooting agent to irrigate the root, and then use seaweed extract every other week. Finally, the foliar spraying of brassinolate, gibberellin and other plant growth regulation, stimulate plant growth recovery.
- Deficient yellow leaf
When cucumber is lack of trace elements, it will also affect the normal growth of the plant and reduce the yield and quality. For example, when iron is deficient, the veins of new leaves turn yellow, new leaves lose green, and when zinc is deficient, the leaves fade. Some are because the use of water-soluble fertilizer contains less trace elements, which can not meet the amount required for cucumber growth. Some are due to poor soil conditions, the trace elements contained are fixed, and the roots cannot absorb them.
When cucumber shows symptoms of deficiency, it needs to be artificially supplemented. Some farmers use foliar spraying, while others adjust the soil to weak acidity to promote the absorption of trace elements by roots. But the most direct, easy and effective way is to add trace element fertilizer when applying fertilizer to meet the amount required for plant growth.
In order to prevent elements such as zinc, boron, iron and copper from reacting with elements in water-soluble fertilizers and reducing fertilizer efficiency, chelated trace element fertilizers should be used when selecting trace element fertilizers. The absorption rate of fertilizers is high, and trace elements should be complete. Seven trace elements are indispensable.
- Scorched leaves, yellow edges of leaves
There are many reasons for the dry scorch or yellowing of the edges of cucumber leaves, such as lack of elements, sudden ventilation during high temperature, salt damage, drug damage, and so on. When farmers find this phenomenon, they should first find out the reason, and then find out the solution. For example, during the high temperature period at noon, the vent should be opened slowly to prevent the blade from suddenly cooling down.
For example, due to drug damage, the leaves are dry and the edges are yellow, the concentration of the agent sprayed during high temperature is too high, or the agent itself is not suitable for melons, and so on. After the occurrence of pesticide damage, it is necessary to strengthen the management of water and fertilizer, and spray Bihu to promote the recovery of plant growth.
The good and bad growth of cucumbers can be seen from the leaves. Whether it is the topping of melons or the yellowing of leaves, farmers should find solutions according to the causes to ensure the yield of cucumbers.
